How to make an apartment easier to clean
A clear path and accessible surfaces matter more than having a large storage system.
Protect the places you move through
Walk from the entry to the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Move bags and loose belongings away from the route so that floors can be reached. In a Ballard apartment or townhome, stairs and narrow entries may need their own small landing place for shoes and everyday items.
Clear surfaces without hiding everything
Put toiletries, cooking tools and bedside items in their normal homes. Avoid transferring the entire counter to another room, where it creates a second task. Decide which frequently used items can stay out, then leave enough open surface to clean around them.
Plan the building details
Before a cleaning visit, note stairs, entry instructions and any building access arrangements. Include pets and delicate materials in the booking details. If an appliance interior or another extra is a priority, check that it is selected rather than assuming every task is part of routine care.
